We ended March in a grant way: the first National gathering of the Commons. 40 enthusiastic builders and doers gathered to weave stronger networks and exchange experiences on various topics: relationships with local governments, how to find funding, how to keep our network growing, how to build support networks etc. A general optimistic feeling was present throughout the day. Commons are alive and kicking and there a growing movement of people organising themselves not as a private company, not as non-profit or public entity solely funded through subsidies but as common.

And with this, the Commons Hub programming is heading steadfast towards becoming a space to meet, dream and learn about commons and commoning. One of the questions we hold very high is: can a commons be a sustainable business model in our current society? Can it offer us a resilient, robust alternative, in the 21st century? We for sure have a lot to relearn. Organising as common has proven itself for centuries and centuries as a regenerative and sustainable practice, in service of our planet and in service of humans. They have proven themselves to be a model for a thriving world. There is a well deserved revival going. An inspirational video about this here.
