Checklist for onboarding as a new members

This is a guide on how to onboard members, are you a new member yourself? Go here!

The first step is to read carefully the "Welcome E-mail" : see Welcome to the CHB!

👫 Search for an older member who is willing to be yourthe “buddy” for the CHB of a new member (new step to test)

• The buddy will be yourthe first contact for any question about the CHB.of this new member
• Preferably the buddy has the same role(s) as yourselfthe new member (member, coworker,..)
• The buddy will help you to go trough the checklist here below with the new member
• The use of CHB tools (Discord, Notion, opencollective.com, lu.ma,…..) and the stewardship of a CHB event can be explained by youra buddy, to a new member taking enough time (and having fun) together
• To find a CHB member willing to be your buddy, @Cedric Sounard or @Leen Schelfhout will support you
• If you know already well tools as Discord and Notion, a buddy can be not needed and the checlist and info here below can be sufficent for your CHB onboarding.
